Frequently Asked Questions
What is the minimum and maximum quantity I can prepare?+
Fill with a minimum of 0.35 L (≈ 12 oz) and a maximum of 1.2 L (≈ 40 oz). Below the minimum, the appliance cannot freeze the mixture properly; above the maximum, the mixture overflows at the dispensing opening.
Can I make frozen cocktails (with alcohol)?+
Yes. For a "spiked slush," the alcohol content must stay between 4% and 16%: above that, the mixture won't freeze because the alcohol prevents it from setting. Use a juice that is already sweetened (≈ 6% sugar) for the best texture.
Do I need to prepare the appliance before first use?+
Yes: clean the removable parts and run the rinse cycle before your first preparation. Do not put the container back in the refrigerator; store the appliance dry, in a sheltered place, out of children's reach.
Do I need to wait before plugging in the appliance (first use or after moving it)?+
Yes. Leave the appliance upright for at least 2 hours before plugging it in — both for first use and after every time you move it. This waiting period lets the refrigerant settle in the compressor; using the appliance too soon can damage the cooling system.
How long does it take, and how do I know my drink is ready?+
Allow 15 to 60 minutes depending on the ingredients, the volume, and their starting temperature — pre-chilled ingredients freeze faster. The LED indicator flashes while the mixture is setting and stays steady once the texture is reached.
What should you never put in the machine?+
No hot ingredients (above 60°C), no ice cubes or ice blocks, no solid pieces (whole fruit), and no hard ingredients. Ingredients must be liquid and contain at least 6% sugar to freeze properly.
The motor has stopped or the appliance seems overloaded — what should I do?+
The appliance has overload protection. The most common cause is exceeding the maximum capacity (or ingredients that are too hard). Let it cool for about 15 minutes, remove the ingredients, check that nothing is blocking the auger, do not exceed the max level, then restart.
Are the parts dishwasher safe?+
All removable parts are dishwasher safe, but never use a heated drying cycle (which would warp them). Never put the motor unit, evaporator, or control panel in the dishwasher or under water: wipe them with a soft damp cloth.
How do I clean the machine between batches?+
Use the rinse cycle: pour warm water (60°C maximum) up to the max fill line, run the cycle, then drain the water through the tap. Then wash the removable parts by hand or in the dishwasher, and repeat if needed.
The machine is leaking from underneath, what should I do?+
First check that the bowl is properly locked: the white arrow on the bowl must be perfectly aligned with the small padlock icon. A loosely fitted bowl is the most common cause of leaking from underneath. Remove the bowl, reposition it, then turn it until the arrow and padlock icon line up before restarting. The support video on this page shows the procedure.
Can I use the machine straight out of the box?+
No: let it stand upright on the worktop for at least 2 hours before first use, to allow the refrigerant to settle in the condenser. Take this time to wash all the parts in warm soapy water, rinse them and let them air-dry. Wipe the control panel, the motor base and the evaporator with a soft cloth and let them dry completely.
My mixture stays liquid and doesn't turn into a slush, what should I do?+
If the desired texture is not reached after 60 minutes, increase the temperature then wait 10 to 15 minutes before checking again. Also check the recipe: too little sugar or too much alcohol will prevent it from setting, and all ingredients must contain at least 6% sugar. Filling up to the maximum fill line also gives better results when dispensing.
What do the E0, E1, E2 and E3 codes shown on the screen mean?+
E0 indicates that the safety switch is not closed: refit the tank correctly. E3 indicates that the motor has jammed three times within an hour: remove whatever is blocking it, wait one minute then restart the machine. Codes E1 and E2 relate to the temperature sensor and require the intervention of a professional.
The motor stopped in the middle of a preparation, how do I restart it?+
The appliance temporarily cuts the motor in the event of overload, to protect the drive system. Let it cool for about 15 minutes, remove all parts and accessories and check that no ingredient is blocking the auger. The most common cause is exceeding the tank's maximum capacity.
Which ingredients must never be put into the machine?+
Do not add ice cubes, frozen fruit or any solid ingredient to the tank. Do not pour in hot mixtures either: liquids must not exceed 60 °C. The appliance is not designed to make smoothies or to blend or purée non-liquid ingredients.
How much can I prepare at once?+
Allow a minimum of 0.35 L and a maximum of 1.2 L of mixture per cycle. For optimal dispensing, fill up to the maximum fill line. For a more frosty result, chill the liquids before pouring them in and put the glasses in the fridge.
How long does it take to get a frozen drink?+
Allow 15 to 60 minutes depending on the ingredients, the volume and the starting temperature. The temperature setting indicator flashes slowly while the drink is setting, then stays steady once the temperature is reached. The appliance then keeps running to keep the drink at the right temperature until it is dispensed.
How do I clean the machine after use?+
First run the rinse cycle, then turn the tank to the left to unlock it and lift it out, with the tank empty, before removing the auger. Wash all the parts by hand in warm soapy water or in the dishwasher, in the bottom rack and without a hot drying cycle. The motor base and the evaporator are not dishwasher safe: wipe them with a warm, damp cloth, and let everything dry before reassembling.
