Frequently Asked Questions

My deep fryer stopped by itself in the middle of cooking, how do I restart it?+

In the event of overheating, a thermal protection device automatically switches off the deep fryer. It takes the form of a small red button, located under the electrical component or in the cord storage compartment. Unplug the power cord, then press this button with a pointed object, a pen for example, to reset the appliance.

My deep fryer won't switch on, what should I check?+

Check that the control unit is properly assembled into the oil housing and correctly secured, and that the small black safety switch is activated: otherwise the deep fryer will not switch on properly. Also check that the tank contains enough oil, as the deep fryer must never run without oil.

The indicator light keeps turning on and off, is there a problem?+

No, that is normal. The indicator light follows the thermostat's cycles, which keeps the oil at the correct temperature. The thermostat can be set between 150°C and 190°C, and the timer from 0 to 60 minutes.

When should the lid filters be changed?+

The carbon filter should be replaced every 6 months and the oil filter every 12 months. To change them, unclip and remove the filter cover, take out the white and black parts, then discard the old filters before fitting the new ones.

Which parts of the deep fryer can go in water?+

Unplug the appliance and wait until it has fully cooled, as the oil keeps its heat for a long time. The oil pot and the body can be immersed in water. The control unit and the heating element must never be immersed in water: clean them with absorbent paper, then with a damp cloth and a mild soap. Dry thoroughly, without an abrasive brush or chemical cleaner.

After how many uses should the oil be replaced?+

Replace the oil after 10 to 15 uses, or sooner if it turns brown and thick. To reuse it, it is recommended to filter it after each frying session.

What oil should I put in the deep fryer, and can I use solid fat?+

Use a good-quality frying oil: peanut, vegetable, pure corn, sunflower, rapeseed or light olive oil, without mixing several oils. Solid fat is forbidden: water can remain trapped inside and violently spatter hot fat. Fill the tank between the MIN and MAX marks.

Scalding steam comes out when I open the lid, is that normal?+

Yes, removing the lid releases hot steam. Open it carefully, keeping your face and bare skin away from the steam release. Then hang the basket on the hook to let excess oil drain off, without touching the basket while it is hot: always use the handle.
