Product FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I prepare the appliance before first use?+

Run the appliance empty for about 10 minutes at 200°C to remove manufacturing residue (a slight odour/smoke is normal). Let it cool, then wash the basket and the pot before cooking.

Can I reheat food?+

Yes. Set the temperature to 150°C for up to 10 minutes to reheat without drying the food out.

How do I use the air fryer's Grill mode?+

Make sure the appliance is completely cool, grip both sides of the upper housing and lift it straight up to detach it from the main unit. Rotate it 180°, set it down on a flat surface, place the included grill plate horizontally, then set the temperature and time before you start grilling.

How do I select a preset cooking program?+

After switching the appliance on, press the Menu (M) button to choose a program: the selected menu flashes while the others stay lit. Each preset has a programmed time and temperature (fries, pork chops, shrimp, chicken, meat, cakes, bread, fish); then press Start/Pause to begin cooking.

What does the "turn food" message mean during cooking?+

Some programs include a mid-cooking turn reminder: when "turn food" appears with five beeps, open the basket and turn the food over for even cooking. Be careful of the hot steam that escapes when you open it.

Can I pour oil into the air fryer pot?+

No, never fill the pot with oil or fat, as this could cause a fire. This air fryer works with very little oil; to brown homemade food, simply toss it with a small amount of oil before cooking.

How much clearance should I leave around the appliance, and where should I place it?+

Leave at least ten centimetres of clear space on all sides for air circulation, and do not place the air fryer under cabinets, blinds, or curtains. Use it on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, and never cover any part of the appliance.

Are the basket and tray dishwasher safe?+

Yes, the basket and tray are dishwasher safe. Do not use abrasive agents or scouring pads, wipe the exterior with a damp cloth, and never immerse the air fryer in water.

What precaution should I take when baking bread?+

When baking bread, its height must not exceed the "MAX" mark on the pot. Otherwise it may touch the heating element and pose a fire risk.

My air fryer won't turn on, what should I do?+

First check that the appliance is properly plugged into a working outlet. Also note that it automatically goes into standby after 5 minutes of inactivity.

My air fryer doesn't turn on at all, what should I check?+

Start with the simplest checks: the appliance must be plugged into a working mains socket. Also check that the cord is neither wound around the product nor tangled during use. If the cord is damaged, stop using it and have it replaced by an approved service centre.

White smoke is coming out of my air fryer, is this normal?+

Yes, in two cases. When you cook fatty foods, a large amount of oil escapes into the basket: it produces this white smoke and the basket heats up more than usual, with no effect on the appliance or the result. The smoke can also come from grease residue left over from a previous cooking session: in that case, clean the basket thoroughly after each use.

My food comes out undercooked or unevenly cooked, why?+

Most often, there is too much food in the basket: reduce the quantities and cut the food into smaller pieces. Then check the temperature and time set, referring to the cooking chart in the instructions. Finally, foods that overlap, such as fries, need to be shaken or turned halfway through cooking.

I can't get the basket back in place in the appliance, what should I do?+

There is probably too much food inside: never fill above the MAX mark on the basket. Also check the tray, which must be pushed down into the basket until you hear a click. Remember to empty the basket after each use, as excess oil builds up in it along with fatty foods.

My homemade fries aren't crispy, how can I do better?+

Use fresh, firm potatoes, and rinse the fries well before cooking to remove the starch. Then dry them completely before adding the oil: crispiness depends a lot on the ratio between water and oil. Finally, cut them thinner and add just a little more oil for a crispier result.

Where can I set up my air fryer on the counter?+

Place it on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, and leave at least ten centimetres of free space on all sides so that air can circulate properly. Do not place it under cabinets, blinds or curtains. Never cover the appliance with a cloth or similar object: this would cause overheating and a fire risk.

My new air fryer gives off a smell and a little smoke, is this a concern?+

No. The first time you use it, it is normal to notice a slight smell or a little smoke: this is simply the manufacturing residue burning off. This goes away after the first few cooking sessions. Also remember that this is an air fryer: it must never be filled with oil or fat.

How do I clean the basket and tray after use?+

Wait until the air fryer is unplugged and cooled down, then remove the basket by its handle and the tray by its central handle. Wash the inside and outside of both with a sponge and hot soapy water; they are also dishwasher-safe. Do not use abrasive products or scouring pads, and never immerse the body of the appliance in water: wipe it with a damp cloth.
