Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the lid impossible to open?+

This means the pressure cooker is still under pressure and the float valve is in the raised position. Never force it: let the pressure drop completely, or use the quick release by pushing the switch to "vent" to lower the valve before opening.

How far can I fill the inner pot?+

Never exceed the 4/5 MAX line on the inner pot. For foods that expand (rice, beans, dried vegetables), do not fill beyond 2/5 and make sure there is enough liquid.

Can I use the pressure cooker without liquid?+

No. Never use the appliance without water or liquid, as this can cause serious damage. Always check that there is liquid before pressurising.

How do I release steam safely?+

There are two methods: quick release, by pushing the switch to "vent", or natural release, by letting the cooker cool down (15 to 20 min). Wear gloves, keep your face and hands away, and wait for the float valve to drop.

How long does it take to build up pressure?+

The appliance starts automatically about 10 seconds after you set it. The time to build pressure depends on the type and quantity of food; the cooking countdown only starts once pressure has been reached.

Can I replace the sealing ring myself?+

No. To avoid any risk of explosion, never replace the sealing ring yourself: have it replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified person. Before each use, check that the sealing ring is clean and properly in place.

How do I clean the appliance?+

Unplug and let it cool down. Never immerse the electric unit in water. The inner pot, ladle, measuring cup, and stand are dishwasher safe, but the lid must be washed by hand; clean the sealing ring and valves thoroughly, then dry everything.

What should I do if steam is escaping or there is no pressure?+

If steam is escaping from the lid, check that it is properly locked and that the sealing ring is clean and in place. If steam escapes continuously, reposition the valve (wearing gloves). If there is no pressure, the float valve may be stuck (clean it) or there may not be enough liquid (add more).

What should you never do with this pressure cooker?+

Never use it to deep-fry under pressure (fire risk), do not use the "sauté" function with the lid closed, do not pierce skin-on meat after pressure cooking, and never cover the valves.

My pressure cooker's lid won't open, what should I do?+

This means the float valve is still in the raised position: the appliance is still under pressure. Wait for the pressure to drop or use the quick release. Never force it open, as residual pressure can cause injury.

Steam is escaping from the lid, is that normal?+

No. Check that the lid is properly closed and turned to the locked position. Then check the sealing ring: if it is dirty, clean it; if it is missing, put it back in place.

Steam keeps escaping through the valve, what should I do?+

The exhaust valve is not correctly positioned: press on it with oven mitts to put it back in place. If the valve is damaged, do not replace it yourself and contact support.

My pressure cooker isn't building pressure, why?+

If the float valve is stuck in the raised position, clean it. If there is not enough liquid in the pot, add more. Never run the pressure cooker without water, as this would seriously damage it.

My pressure cooker gives off a smell or smoke, what should I do?+

If this is the first use, run the appliance with water for 10 minutes: this factory smell is temporary and disappears quickly, making sure to ventilate the room well. If the problem persists, stop using the appliance and contact support.

How far can I fill the inner pot?+

Never exceed the 4/5 MAX line inside the pot. For foods that expand during cooking, such as rice or beans, only use enough liquid to fill the container halfway. Dry the outside of the pot before placing it in the main unit.

Which parts are dishwasher safe?+

The inner pot, the rice paddle, the measuring cup and the cooking rack are dishwasher safe. The lid is not: wash it by hand in warm soapy water. The electrical appliance itself must never be immersed.

How do I maintain the sealing ring and the valves?+

Unplug the appliance and let it cool down, then wash the sealing ring, the exhaust valve, its guard, the float valve and the silicone cap in warm soapy water. Only clean the exhaust valve and its guard if a build-up of residue is visible. Rinse, dry thoroughly and reconnect everything correctly before the next use.
