Frequently Asked Questions
What should I do before using the blender for the first time?+
Thoroughly wash all parts that come into contact with food. The first time you switch it on, the motor may give off a smell: this is normal and disappears after a few uses.
What is the maximum quantity I can put in the jug?+
Never exceed the maximum level indicated on the jug. Cut fruit or vegetables into small pieces (about 15 x 15 x 15 mm) and keep a food-to-water ratio of 2/3.
Can I pour hot or boiling liquids into the jug?+
Do not pour in boiling water and do not run the appliance empty. Be careful with hot liquids, which can be ejected if sudden boiling occurs.
How long can I run the blender continuously?+
With the jug, do not exceed 3 minutes of continuous use, with at least 10 minutes of rest between cycles; let it cool before restarting. With the chopping bowl or grinding bowl, do not exceed 30 seconds.
How do I correctly assemble the jug and bowls?+
Make sure the dial is set to "0", align the mark on the main unit, then turn clockwise until it clicks. Never place the blade assembly on the motor unless the bowl is correctly fitted.
How do I clean the blender?+
Unplug before cleaning, and clean immediately after use. Pour a little warm soapy water into the jug, set the dial to P for a few seconds, then empty it out. Some parts are dishwasher safe at 60°C maximum.
Can I immerse the base in water or put it in the dishwasher?+
No. Never immerse the base in water (risk of electric shock) and do not put it in the dishwasher. Wipe it with a damp cloth and then dry it, without abrasive pads or harsh detergents.
How do I crush ice or chop hard foods?+
For meat or hard vegetables, use the chopping bowl with the S-blades (max 300 g, ~30 mm cubes) without exceeding 30 s. For coffee or nuts, use the grinding bowl (max 100 g) without exceeding 30 s. For quick tasks, use the P (pulse) setting.
My blender gives off a strange smell the first time I use it, is that normal?+
Yes, that's normal: a distinctive smell may occur the first few times the motor is started. It goes away on its own after a few uses. There is nothing special you need to do.
The jug won't fit onto the base, what should I do?+
First check that the control knob is in position 0. Then align the jug with the marks on the motor unit and turn it clockwise: a “click” indicates that it is correctly locked in place. Until you hear this click, the unit is not properly fitted.
How long can I run my blender continuously?+
Do not exceed 3 minutes of continuous operation, then let the appliance rest for at least 10 minutes and return to room temperature before starting another cycle. With the chopper bowl, continuous use must not exceed 30 seconds. You can stop the appliance at any time by returning the knob to position 0.
How do I fill the jug properly to get the best results?+
Peel and deseed the fruit or vegetables, then cut them into small pieces about 15 mm across. Add drinking water or another liquid to help with blending, never exceeding the maximum mark on the jug. Do not pour boiling water into the jug and never run the appliance empty.
What is the P position on the control knob for?+
The P position is for quick or delicate blending: hold the knob on P for a few seconds then release it, it returns to 0 on its own. Repeat this until you get the texture you want. You can add ingredients while blending through the opening in the lid, by removing the measuring cup.
Can I chop meat with this appliance?+
Yes, using the chopper bowl fitted with the S-blade unit. Remove any sinew from the meat and cut it into cubes of about 30 mm, not exceeding 300 g. Close the bowl lid firmly, select the speed you want and do not exceed 30 seconds of continuous use.
What is the easiest way to clean the jug after use?+
Unplug the appliance, pour a little warm soapy water into the jug, turn the knob to P for a few seconds then empty out the water. It is best to clean it right after use, as dried food sticks to the walls and becomes hard to remove. Brush the blades with warm soapy water then rinse them, handling them carefully as they are very sharp.
Which parts are dishwasher safe?+
The measuring cup, the lid and the blender jug, the chopper bowl and its lid, the S-blade unit and the grinding bowl are dishwasher safe. However, the main unit and the chopper bowl's gear housing must never be rinsed, soaked or put in the dishwasher. Never immerse the base in water: simply wipe it with a damp cloth. If you are unsure about the temperature, hand washing is preferable.
