The first time I use it, my microwave gives off a smell and smoke. Is this normal?+
Yes. Manufacturing or oil residues remain in the cavity and on the heating element during the first few uses. Open a door or window to ventilate well, place a cup of water in the oven, set it to maximum power, and run it several times. This then no longer occurs.
My microwave no longer heats, what should I check before calling customer service?+
Place a cup of water (about 150 ml) in a glass container, close the door properly and run the oven for 1 minute. Check that the interior lamp comes on, that the cooling fan blows at the back and that the water is hot at the end. If the answer is no to any of these points, check the wall socket and the fuse on the electrical panel before contacting an approved service centre.
Smoke is coming out of the oven during cooking, what should I do?+
Turn off or unplug the appliance immediately and keep the door closed to smother any flame. Do not open the door until the smoke has stopped. Always keep an eye on the oven when heating food in plastic or paper containers, due to the risk of ignition.
There are sparks in my oven, where do they come from?+
A metal container has almost certainly been placed in the oven: metal causes sparks, both in microwave mode and in combination cooking. Stop the appliance immediately and remove the container. Use only ceramic, glass or heat-resistant plastic containers.
The buttons on my oven no longer respond, how do I unlock it?+
The child lock is probably switched on: in this mode, all the buttons are inoperative. Hold down the STOP button for about 3 seconds to turn it off. The same action turns it back on, for example while cleaning.
My oven beeps every 3 minutes after cooking, is this a fault?+
No. Three beeps signal the end of cooking or defrosting, then a sound reminder goes off every 3 minutes until you take action. Open the door or press the STOP button to stop this reminder.
How do I remove bad odours from inside the oven?+
Place a few lemon slices in a cup and heat for 2 to 3 minutes at high power. A cup of red tea heated at high power gives the same result, as do a few orange peels heated for 1 minute at high power. Between uses, store the appliance in a dry, well-ventilated place.
How do I use my oven's grill function?+
Press the Grill button several times to choose the mode: G for grill only, C-1 for 30% microwave and 70% grill, C-2 for 55% microwave and 45% grill. Then set the time, between 0:10 and 60:00, and press START/+30s. Grill mode is suitable for thin cuts of meat, sausages and chicken wings, and gives a nice browning.
