Product FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

My microwave no longer heats, what should I check before calling the after-sales service?+

Place a cup of water (about 150 ml) in a glass container, close the door and run the oven for 1 minute. Check that the lamp lights up, that the cooling fan runs (hand in front of the rear openings), that the turntable rotates and that the water is hot. If the answer is no to any of these points, check the wall socket and the meter fuse, then contact the nearest authorised service centre.

My new oven gives off a smell and a bit of smoke, is that normal?+

Yes, this comes from manufacturing or oil residue present in the cavity or on the heating element. Place a cup of water in the oven, set it to high power and run it several times to make the phenomenon disappear.

How do I get rid of bad smells inside the oven?+

Heat a cup containing several lemon slices at high power for 2 to 3 minutes. You can also heat a cup of red tea at high power, or orange peel for 1 minute at high power.

Can I use a metal dish in this oven?+

No. Never use metal containers for microwave cooking or combination cooking: sparks may occur. Prefer ceramic, glass or heat-resistant plastic suitable for microwave use.

Can I leave the rack in the oven when cooking with the microwave?+

No. Never use the rack during microwave-only cooking: it is designed for placing food to be roasted in grill mode. Never run the oven empty either.

Can I heat an egg in its shell or a sealed jar?+

No. Eggs in their shell and whole hard-boiled eggs can explode, even after heating has finished. Liquids and food placed in sealed containers can also explode: always open or pierce the container.

What do modes G., C-1 and C-2 correspond to?+

G. is grill only: the heating element heats for the whole operating time, which is suited to thin cuts of meat, pork, sausages and chicken wings, giving a nice browning. C-1 combines 30% microwave and 70% grill, C-2 combines 55% microwave and 45% grill. In grill mode, the oven, the rack and dishes become very hot: use thick oven gloves.

How do I lock the keypad to stop children using the oven?+

Hold the STOP key down for about 3 seconds: all keys become inactive. To unlock, hold the STOP key down again for about 3 seconds. This function can also be used to lock the keypad during cleaning.
