Frequently Asked Questions
My vacuum cleaner doesn't start when I press the switch, what should I do?+
First check that it is properly plugged in and that the cord is not damaged. If the appliance still doesn't respond, the instructions attribute the problem to an internal wire that has come disconnected or a cord broken inside the cord reel. Checking this requires dismantling the appliance: do not attempt it yourself and take the appliance to the after-sales service.
My vacuum cleaner is making an unusual noise and giving off an acrid smell, is that serious?+
Yes, this is a signal to take seriously. Unusual noises during use, or an acrid smell along with a failure to start, indicate a damaged motor, which must be replaced. Stop using the appliance, unplug it and contact the after-sales service.
How do I clean the dust bin and the filter?+
Pull on the dust bin and press the locking button to remove it, then take out the HEPA filter. Both the filter and the bin can be washed with water. Wait until they are completely dry before refitting them one after the other.
Can I vacuum while the filter is drying?+
No. Never use the vacuum cleaner without its dust bin and its filters in place. Wait until they are completely dry and correctly refitted before resuming cleaning.
Can I vacuum water or damp dust with this vacuum cleaner?+
No, this vacuum cleaner is not designed for water or damp dust, and it must not be used outdoors or on wet surfaces. Also never vacuum glowing ashes, cigarettes or matches, nor flammable liquids such as petrol.
Should the vacuum cleaner be unplugged between uses?+
Yes. Do not leave the vacuum cleaner plugged in permanently: unplug it when you are not using it, and always before cleaning or servicing it. Before first use, also check that your electrical installation matches the details on the rating plate.
