Product FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

My rice cooker heats poorly or the rice is undercooked, what should I check?+

Check that no drop of water, dust or grain of rice remains between the bottom of the pot and the heating plate: these foreign bodies degrade performance and can burn parts. Also check that the pot is not tilted: its bottom must touch the heating plate over its entire surface.

How much water is needed to cook rice?+

Allow about 1.5 cups of water per 1 cup of rice. The markings on the left of the pot are graduated in litres, those on the right in cups: pour water up to the mark matching the quantity of rice. These marks remain indicative, as different varieties of rice do not absorb water in the same way.

Can I wash the rice directly in the cooker's pot?+

No. Wash the rice in a separate container, then pour it into the pot. Washing it in the pot risks deforming it from impacts, which harms the cooker's performance.

How do I know when cooking is finished?+

The black switch releases automatically when cooking finishes and the cooker switches to keep-warm mode: the corresponding indicator light comes back on. Leave the lid in place for another 10 minutes before serving.

Does the cooker need preheating, and what does keep-warm mode do?+

No preheating is needed. Once cooking is finished, the cooker automatically switches to keep-warm mode and keeps the rice between 60°C and 80°C. If you do not want keep-warm mode, set the O/I switch to the O position.

My cooker stays hot after cooking, how do I switch it off completely?+

Set the O/I switch to the O position, then unplug the appliance. As long as the cord is plugged in and the switch is on I, the cooker remains powered and continues keeping food warm.

How do I clean the rice cooker?+

Never immerse the cooker in water: clean it with a soft, damp cloth. The pot, however, can be washed with water. Keep the bottom of the pot and the heating plate perfectly clean.
