Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know when my griddle is ready to cook on?+
The control light comes on as soon as the appliance is switched on. Allow 5 to 10 minutes: when the light goes off, the plate is up to temperature and you can start cooking.
How do I connect the thermostat before first use?+
Plug the temperature control unit into the base of the appliance, making sure the plug is fully inserted. Then set the selector to position 0, and plug the appliance into a 220-240 V socket. Clean the appliance thoroughly before the very first use.
Can I plug the griddle into an extension lead or a power strip?+
No. The instructions prohibit the use of a multi-socket cable or an extension lead: plug the appliance directly into a wall socket. Never touch the cable or the plug with wet hands, and do not let the cable hang, to avoid any risk of it being pulled down.
Should I oil the plate before cooking?+
Yes, brush the hot plate with a little cooking oil before starting, then set the control to the desired heat level. Watch out for oil splashes during cooking, as they can injure your hands, head and eyes.
Can I keep my food warm once cooking is finished?+
Yes, the appliance has a keep-warm function. Once cooking is finished, simply turn the temperature control back to the thermostat position to keep dishes warm.
Can the cooking plate go in the dishwasher?+
No, the whole cooking plate cannot go in the dishwasher. Also do not use harsh detergents, metal or nylon brushes, or knives or spatulas to clean it: you would damage the non-stick coating. Always dry the appliance thoroughly after cleaning.
When can I clean my griddle after the meal?+
First turn the temperature control to 0 and unplug the appliance from the mains socket. Then let the appliance cool down completely before cleaning it. Never immerse it, its cable or its plug in water or any other liquid.
