Frequently Asked Questions
My pressure cooker's lid won't open after cooking, what should I do?+
Never force it open. As long as the float valve is in the raised position, the pressure has not gone down and the lid must not be opened. Wait until the pressure has dropped sufficiently, then hold the handle firmly and turn the lid clockwise until it comes free.
What does "bb" mean on my pressure cooker's display?+
"bb" indicates that the programme has finished and the appliance has switched to keep-warm mode. Press the cancel button to stop the cycle: the screen then shows "00:00". Then let the steam vent until the valve is clear before opening the lid.
How full can I fill my pressure cooker's inner pot?+
Never exceed two-thirds of the pot's capacity. For food that expands during cooking, such as rice or dried vegetables, do not fill beyond halfway. Never run the pressure cooker without having added water, as this would seriously damage it.
How do I clean my electric pressure cooker?+
Unplug the appliance and let it cool before any cleaning. Remove the inner pot and degrease it with a detergent, then clean the bottom of the heating plate with a damp cloth or brush if food has dried onto it. Remove and wash the water collector, and clean the inside of the cooker as well as the steam release valve to prevent it from blocking.
My pressure cooker's seal is damaged, can I still use it?+
No. Never damage the sealing ring or replace it with a different rubber or silicone gasket. If the steel ring slips, stop using the appliance until it has been replaced. Only use manufacturer spare parts matching the model.
Can I deep-fry food in my pressure cooker?+
Never use the pressure cooker in pressurised mode to fry food, whether in an oil bath or on the surface. Also check before each use that the valves are not obstructed.
What are the capacity and operating pressure of this pressure cooker?+
The inner pot has a capacity of 5.7 litres (6 quarts) and the appliance operates at a pressure of 65 kPa. It runs on 220-240 V, 50/60 Hz, for a power of 1000 to 1200 W.
