Stop the appliance immediately. An unusual noise, an acrid smell, or a machine that no longer starts indicate a damaged motor, which must be replaced. Do not continue using it and have it serviced by an authorised dealer or a qualified service centre.

Slide the release button to open the bottom of the dust cup, then empty out the dust it contains. Close the bottom again before resuming vacuuming.

The main filter can be removed as soon as it is dirty: remove the dust around it by tapping gently or with a brush. The motor filter, located under the cover at the back of the vacuum cleaner, can be removed and washed thoroughly with water. Let it dry naturally and completely before putting it back in place.

Insert the hose connector into the air intake duct until it clicks into place. To remove it, turn the hose connector and then pull it out.

The floor brush is adjusted with the small pedal, operated with your foot. Use the brush retracted on rugs and carpets, and the brush extended on hard floor coverings that are not at risk of being scratched.

The crevice tool (dusting tool) is used to clean radiators, corners, edges, drawers, skirting boards and ornate or carved objects. The upholstery tool is designed for furniture fabrics, blinds and books. They fit onto the extension tube.

Never vacuum lit matches or hot ashes, nor needles, string, cement, plaster or other building and decorating materials. Do not vacuum water, liquid or wet dirt: this causes major breakdowns and compromises the appliance's electrical safety. Wait until freshly washed rugs and floors are completely dry before vacuuming.
